Def Jam Putting In Work For Jadakiss Debut

One of the most skilled lyricist in New York, Jadakiss, is preparing his Def Jam debut album, "Kiss My Ass".

On a label where alot of the artist have complained about lack of promotion and marketing, Def Jam has put Jadakiss at the forefront.

Jadakiss has confirmed that he is only a few songs away from completing his album, but also said he would like to finish his mixtape first. It has been 4 years since Jada released "Kiss of Death"

Appreances from Young Jeezy, Lil Wayne "Death Wish", Jay-Z assisted "Who Run This",Ghostface , Raekwon, Ne-Yo "By Your Side", Avery Storm, Barrington Levy and of course D-Block are all expected to contribute to the album.

Jadakiss plans to release his mixtape, than his LP, then a D-Block compilation entitled "No Security Needed" will all hit the streets. By 2009 Sheek Louch, Styles P, and Jada will release the long awaited LOX  album.

Blueprint 3 Baby On The Way.....

Yep its official, Jigga Man is back in the studio with tentative release date of December 2nd. As you may have already heard Kanye West will serve as executive producer for the album and producing majority of the tracks. "Jockin Jay-Z" will serve as the albums official/non official first single, and that has been making its rounds nationwide. I am excited that there will be a remake to "Swagger Like Us" (check this lineup out) Jay-Z ft Andre 3000, Nas, and Young Jeezy. Could you ask for anything more? I wanna hear 3000 verse cause I know its going to be crazy. This version will be on his album and has already been recorded.

Whatever mindset he was in when he made Blueprint, I hope he is focused like that cause the industry really needs one of those albums right about now.

"Blueprint 3" in stores Dec 2nd

Stream Of Consciousness-Artist Who Should Be Shot At?

Ladies and Gentleman I apologize for keeping you waiting.... Today I will reveal the number one artist who tops the list (once again this is all a joke, so I hope no one catches feelings including the Feds)

Shawty Lo #1

Are you honestly surprised? He has jumped on everyone's track and spit his nursery rhymes to the masses and ppl think that this is okay?! One thing I will give him is that he usually has very good beats (i.e. Foolish, Dey Know). He def takes his fame for granted and if he was not serious about rapping then why even start. These are the lyrics that catapulted him to number one on my list (Gucci Man dodged a bullet on this one but he has the Honorable Mention award)

Gucci Bandanna- Soulja Boy ft Gucci Man and Shawty Lo

"Shawty Lo I really run Atlanta
Scarf around my neck Gucci Bandanna
Niggas talking slick, they filled with ammo
But I dont care so gotdamn you
This big ass watch, cost more than yours
I built a house you can't afford
Its stupid big, got a ocean view
Its way up there, I look down on you
We flex down here, thats what we do
Get in our way, I flex on you
You acting monkey, we keep bananas
Them goons with me, rocking bandanna"

Need I say more.....

To all the artist on this list, please accept this as an intervention meaning I know this hurts but its only about helping you out in the long run lol. There are millions of talented rappers out there who didn't get a chance because someone saw something more in you, so please don't take your position lightly.

Every time you step behind a mic,  try and spit your best lyrics instead of recording your worst freestyles. Next time you want to scream over the track.....don't, maybe just talk and try to have a dictionary in your hand so you can incorporate some new adjectives into your vocabulary. Next time you write a song don't, entitle it "Shawty Got Gifts" or shoot Soul Train in the middle of your bank robbery while telling me to put my hands in the air...

Until next time............ hire a ghostwriter (Skillz or Smitty) haha I'm out.

Stream Of Consciousness-Artist Who Should Be Shot At?

Ladies and Gentlemen today I introduce to you today my Stream of Consciousness, this is going to be a series of "my thoughts, just how I was feeling at the time" (Shouts out to Jay-Z).

Alright before I start I have to give my disclaimer haha: this particular post of is all in good fun, so before the Feds try to shut me down I AM JUST PLAYING.

I am sure you are wanting an explantation of the title "Artist Who Should Be Shot At".  Lately I have noticed that there are  couple of artist who are taking their fame for granted. In the sense that making good music is not a primary concern for them.

Whats my answer you ask?: They need to be shot at. Maybe leaving a club or after a concert or maybe even before a concert lol. I just need someone to shoot a gun in the air around these artist in effort to help them realize that this can all be taken away, so please stop taking your fame for granted....make an effort to make good music!

Enough talking, lets get to the list...

Dj Khaled #4
"We Tha Best!!!!!!!"

Man, where do I start with him.....to be honest I would have ranked him higher in this list but his new album "We Global", he is not hollering as much as he usually is. I think someone finally gave him some much needed words....like "shut the hell up while I am rapping". I made my decision for him to be on this list when he I realized he is planning to make a career out of screaming and so far this has worked for him. Honestly who can tell me what he does? He is a glorified A&R but he manages to make more money than some rappers?! Here are some songs that helped me reach this decision:

1. I Am So Hood
2. I Am So Hood remix
3. Roc Stars Mixtape
4. Out Here Grinding

Flo Rida #4

This guy......... Honestly I havent heard anything from him I could even grow to like. He def takes his fame for granted and refuses to make anything remotely good.  What really makes me mad about this dude is he can actually flow (no pun intended) , if you listen Khaled last album "We The Best" #9 (B**** I'm From Dade County) he actually shows some lyrical talent......I haven't heard it from him since. Here are some songs that helped me reach my decision:

Flo-Rida- Mail On Sunday (The whole album)

Ray-J #2

Shawty Got Gifts?w...............................................................................................................................................hat was going on in his head when he wrote that down? As a matter of fact anyone who was in the studio with him or heard the song before it hit the airwaves needs to be involved in the punishment. Here is the song that made me feel this way:

Shawty Got Gifts (simply unacceptable haha)

And finally the number one person is........

Number one will be revealed this weekend ...so until next time support real hip-hop.

Buckshot is Hospitalized

Just got he news we have another hip-hop pioneer in the hospital. Buckshot from the groundbreaking 90's rap group Black Moon as well as co-founder of Duck Down records has been hospitalized for seizures, after returning from a show in Europe.

We are sending out our prayers for him and his family, that he may have a speedy recovery.

9th Wonder and Buckshot album "The Formula" is on stores now.

President Bush Address Nations Economic Crisis

So basically corporate America messed up and now we have to suffer....I will personally slap anyone who votes for McLame...Its time for a change

David Blaine is Crazy!!!

I would have passed SMOOTH out after the first punch lol. Matter of fact I would have fell over when he was just prepping to hit me lol. All those ppl in the background I would only hope that one of them was doctor. That second time was a classic case of peer pressure haha, you see how he was hunched over the second punch lol. There is a fine line between magic and crazy and he has clearly stepped over that line haha

Ludacris Pool House Burns Down

A relative staying at Ludacris' home in Atlanta mistakenly started the fire that burned his pool house down. The fire dept said it took 30 minutes to put the fire out and luckily no one was hurt. At the time Luda was out of town and there has been no word to his response on the situation.

Hands would have flown if it was me.... As a matter of fact I would want THAT cousin to pick me up from the airport and then I would pull a Frank Lucas and slam his head into the window haha.

Naw I am playing I am glad to hear that no one was hurt and Luda's album sales and Max Payne movie money will rebulid the pool house very quickly.

"Theatre of The Mind" in stores October 19th

Busta Rhymes Leaves Aftermath

One of my favorite artist Busta Rhymes has officially left Aftermath/Interscope and inked a new deal with Universal Mowtown.

To me, the move came suddenly unless his original contract with Dre was only a one album deal?! The Big Bang was the only album released under the Aftermath imprint.

Busta insists that he and Dre have no hard feelings towards each other and still maintain a relationship although they will no longer be on the same label.

In other Busta news, he is currently being detained in the London's City Airport after being denied entry into to the UK. The block was a result of an "unresolved conviction" in the United States. He was on his way to perform at Rock Corps.

"B.O.M.B." (Back On My Bullsh**) is scheduled to be released under Universal/Mowtown.

808 And Heartbreaks Coming Sooner Than You Think

My boy K. West is at it again. Confident in his 4th studio album he has actually told the his label that he wants to push his album up from a December to a November release.

The date will be changed from December 16th to a new date in November. The new release date will put an end to Kanye vs 50 Cent Battle of Record Sales Pt. II. After 50' s defeat to Kanye he planned his his album "Before I Self Destruct" to release when K. West dropped in an effort to go head to head again once again. If you remember last year's battle he said he would retire from rapping if he lost...

You see he is still here lol. Mid-week of the competition he changed his mind saying that if he lost he would schedule his album's around every important Def Jam release.

There has been no word from 50 so far on the change in the date as of yet but 50 being 50, he is bound to say something.

What we could see is 50 vs Jay-Z cause as of right now both albums are slated to drop in December... This one is going to be real good from Hip-Hip......I am listening to Blueprint right now so you see where my allegiance lies haha.

808 And Heartbreaks drops in November

FELA! The Musical (That's Not Black Thought lol)

This is would be crazy to go see for real.

The play is directed by Bill T. Jones and highlights the incredible mind of one of Nigeria's brightest stars. Played by Sahr Ngauja, it tells the story of a man going to medical school in London, where he studied his passion for music instead. He then travels to the United States where he is engulfed with the sounds of the late James Brown. With the help of activist Sandra Isidore, he developed the political voice he used to ignite his people in Nigeria.

He was a trumpeter, saxophonist, occasional keyboardist and drummer....now that's a bad man. Below is one of my favorite songs by Fela.

Jay-Z Is At It Again

Jay-Z has launched a new music label with Norwegian songwriting/production duo StarGate.

Compiled of Mikkel S. Erikksen and Tor Erik Hermansen, StarGate has been the pen/production behind Ne-Yo's "Closer", Rihanna's "Take A Bow", and Beyonce's "Irreplaceable".

The deal was set up as a 50/50 venture with Jay-Z's Roc Nation deal.

The label will be called StarRoc, and will be located in Jay's Roc The Mic studio in New York and will produce artist through a 360 deal. Simply put they will handle all facets of an artists exposure.

The Blueprint 3 is scheduled to drop before the end of this year.

Later than Sooner?!......The Return of G-Dep?

I used to get my clothes all wrinkled up trying to harlem shake to Special Delivery ( don't front you did too haha). It seems like he had a lot on his mind during the interview or maybe those rumors of him being addicted to drugs are true....I cant really call it. Good luck anyway, its a different game now so stay on your grind.

DJ Green Latern-On The Spot Freestlye

Charles Hamilton is cool, he said he was drunk so that might have something to do with it. JOE BUDDEN GOES IN. Last time I saw Joey on this show he killed the Last Days beat and now he is back lyrically holding ppl hostage over various beats including MY personal favorite "You , Me, Him, and Her" Please stop sleeping on Joe Budden!!!!!

In case you thought I was playing...... here is The Last Days freestyle. You be the judge...

Update: Travis Barker/ DJ AM set up Memorial Fund for Victims

Travis Barker and his clothing line "Famous Stars and Straps" has set up a memorial fund for the victims of the jet crash.

"Lil" Chris Baker (Barker's Assistant) and Charles "Che" Still (who served as the Travis' security) have the fund set up in their name respectfully. Baker was on his way back to California to meet with his wife who was giving birth, she later gave birth to the child even through the situation which is a blessing in my eyes.

Life is too short, make sure you are living it right.

To make donations to "Chris Baker Memorial Fund" or the "Charles Still Memorial Fund" send funds to the following address:

T.I. On The Little Screen Doing Big Things

"Two Monkeys Dont Stop The Show"

This past Sunday, Albuquerque hosted the "New Mexico Take Over" concert series. Along with many, many hip-hop artist to be showcased that ranged from local to big name stars, Game and David Banner were scheduled to perform. David Banner cancelled his performance and Game did the same as well on the grounds he was feeling under the weather. Ludacris, also scheduled to perform, hit the stage and picked up where others fell short. From the reviews I have read he did his thing.

I am sure that solidified some sales for Theatre of The Mind which hits stores on November 11th. Its real important for artist to show fans love.

Shouts out to Luda

Run DMC= Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?

To be able to be considered for induction of  the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame you must have released you first single no later than 25 years ago.....there are not many artist/groups (outside of maybe LL Cool J) that can hold that title.

Run DMC has reached that plateau and now stand as a nominees' for induction to the historic museum in Cleveland, Ohio. They will be among the likes of Metallica, Bobby Womack,  and The Stooges along with many other respectable groups/artist.

In 1984 (the year a really cool person was born lol) Run DMC dropped there self-titled album, with frontline single "Sucker MC's". They went on to release 7 studio albums and pioneered the use of Rock samples in their music.

The 2009 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction will be coupled with week-long events followed by the Induction Ceremony on April 4th.

Janet Jackson leaves Def Jam

Yes ladies and gentleman, it is true....Miss Jackson (if you nasty) has officially left Def Jam.  Rodney Jerkins made the announcement earlier today on his blog. According to Mr. Jerkins and other sources, Janet asked to leave the label and her request was granted over the weekend.

One of the main reasons for her leaving the company was the lack of support and promotion displayed by Def Jam. Basically she is saying her records were not being pushed correctly.

Is TAG Records up next lol?

Chamillionaire and Trae tha Truth volunteer for Hurricane Ike Relief

This is something Bill O' Reilly (a.k.a. B**** O' Reilly) wont report. I guess they took some time off from shooting ppl to help out Hurricane efforts lol. That dude is crazy for real.  Shouts out to Cham and Trae for giving back and helping those that support them.

"Everybody talk about it, you have to be about it"- Trae

You think Trae wanted to punch Cham for hogging the camera...haha

Nas- Ya'll My Niggas (Official Video)

If you haven't heard the album yet PLEASE slap yourself. This is the third video from Untitled which according to Sound scan last Tuesday was sitting at 380, 419 copies sold so far. Hopefully this video will generate more sales. In fact go buy another copy.....for your momma, your babysitter, even your dog....I am sure he needs to hear some positive words now and then haha.

The Classics: Jamie Foxx presents The Brady Bunch

Who else do you know could flip this song lol, my boy Jamie Foxx is crazy haha. Shout out to Luther Vandross and Prince!

Wake Up America....

I woke up this morning with a lot on my mind.

My home girl told me this story last night about how she has a friend who's family has always been on the Democratic side of things, but they are going to vote for McCain this time around SIMPLY because they don't want a black president............

Yea thats exactly how I felt when I heard it.

Then I thought to myself there are probably alot of ppl with that sheep-esque mindset.
I have heard stories about ppl feeling like that,  but only through a video I saw on Youtube, somewhere in South Carolina (we cant be surprised about that) I believe. It was just different when I realized ppl so close felt that way as well.

People make sure you vote for who you really believe in, don't change your mind because you are afraid of change, that will get us nowhere. At this point we need to catch up, because clearly what has been in power has not brought about any positive impact, so why not try something different, someone new.

Don't let petty ignorance dictate the next 4 years.

I am personally riding with guy right here because I feel like he can def change this BS world/government we currently have....that's right No Fox Supporters over here.

Praying for Travis Barker and DJ AM

I am sure you all have heard by now but in case you haven't Travis was and 5 other ppl were involved in a jet plane crash early this morning. So far with everything I have seen, only Travis and DJ AM were the only two survivors. Its being reported that they jumped from the burning plane to save their own lives.

They are both listed in critical but stable condition, so please pray for these cats so they have a speedy and successful recovery.

To the families of those who didnt make it, Iron Lungs sends out its condolences and prayers that the families remain strong during this tough time.
